The Latest From Division Street x GOAT: Classic Sneakers With a Tinker Hatfield Touch
What happens when you combine legendary Nike designer Tinker Hatfield with Nike’s iconic hoop shoe the Nike Blazer, then throw in the famous Oregon Duck mascot for good measure? You get the latest offering from Division Street and GOAT: The U of O Player Edition Blazer.
When you think of Tinker Hatfield and iconic Nike hoop shoes, you naturally think of his work with a certain high-flying Chicago Bulls player. But for our latest team-up with GOAT, Tinker took on a classic Nike basketball shoe that first came out when he was still running track for Oregon back in the ‘70s.
The custom Nike Blazer retained the original high-top silhouette but shifted the Swoosh (in its original old-school silhouette) backward toward the heel to allow room for Oregon’s iconic mascot, The Duck, to take center stage. The exclusive Blazers were offered in three colorways—Gray, Green and Blue Tint—each featuring a numbered, bright green tongue. Each pair also came in a special box designed by Hatfield, with a select number signed by Tinker as well.
A total of 140 athletes across three sports—women’s basketball, men’s basketball and football— participated in the promotion and shared in the proceeds from the sale.
