Oregon Women’s Basketball Team Benefits From Great Shooting Day

NIL deal sees Oregon Duck Women's Basketball players team up with Papé Machinery and Carhart

Oregon Ducks Women’s Basketball players are no strangers to great shooting. But some of their best shots this season took place on an off day, during a photoshoot promoting The Papé Group, where every player got to be a star.

Division Street CEO Rosemary St. Clair reveals how it all came about:

“Ryan and Jordan Papé were looking for a way to continue their family's commitment to the University of Oregon Athletics in a new way, building on what their father, Randy Papé, had started when working closely with Phil Knight on the Moshofsky Center. We discussed using the NIL rights of members of the Women’s Basketball team to promote the Carhartt Papé-licensed product and promoting Papé’s motto: “Papé Keeps You Moving.”

As Rosemary points out, the players felt it was a perfect fit from the beginning:

Though well-accustomed to performing on the court, the players did receive some coaching of sorts, as St. Clair explains:

“Each participating student athlete spent time with Angella Choe, the stylist and photographer, to talk about their own personal style and inspiration. Angella is an LA-based photographer and director working across fashion, music, sports and tech. She’s worked with the WNBA, Billie Eilish, Dover Street Market and Supreme.”

The results of the campaign, held on a local outdoor court in Eugene, were posted on social media platforms to promote The Papé Group brand under the tagline “Let’s Work.”

“The participating student athletes were compensated for using images from the shoot to post on Instagram. Each player was asked to post five different posts from January to March.”

The collaboration marked the first between Division Street and Oregon Women’s Basketball players, but given the positive outcome for all involved, it doesn’t figure to be the last, as Rosemary assured that:

“Future collaborations are on the way.”

And why not? This time around, everybody scored.
