Airbnb House Becomes A Home For Athlete Stories
When Division Street launched, one of the primary objectives was to make Oregon athletes feel at home in the new NIL Landscape and give them a place to tell their stories. It seemed only fitting then that one of the first ventures would be to make those commitments literal, in the form of an actual house located in Eugene and available on Airbnb with athletes as hosts.
The fully redesigned house will serve both as a hub for athlete brand development and NIL content creation, and as an actual rental listing, generating income for Oregon athletes who serve as hosts on a rotating basis. In their time as host, each athlete adds their own personal design touches to the home’s environment and promotes the house in their own unique ways. In return the host athlete receives a portion of the rental revenue.
Star Oregon linebacker Noah Sewell was a natural choice as the property’s first host, not only because he wears jersey # 1, but also because of his deep commitment to family and his childhood home in American Samoa. “I’m all about family,” Sewell said. “As I thought about ways to let fans get to know me better, the idea of a home and all that represents really stuck with me. I hope all the guests that come through enjoy the experience staying there as much as I enjoyed designing it.”
From the art on the walls, to Noah’s personal items, to a cupboard full of Noah’s favorite snacks, to a surprise welcome gift from Noah to all guests, no detail was left untouched. Airbnb guests who book a stay here can expect an immersive experience into Noah the person and athlete, as well as the Oregon Duck experience.
As one of Division Street’s first ventures, the house is both a physical and symbolic representation of the company’s approach. As Division St.’s CEO Rosemary St. Clair put it, “Division Street brings creativity, innovation and an athlete-first mentality to the work of helping student-athletes create and monetize their brands,” adding “This is a perfect example of that...we’re constructing the building blocks of his brand and creating a lasting revenue pipeline for him and the other Oregon athletes who will follow him.”
In this case, one those building blocks happens to be an actual building. One where Oregon athletes are finding themselves right at home.
Guests can book Noah’s Airbnb experience here and the house will be available for guests to book through January 31st, 2022.
